Syllabus: | Environmental Physiology 331 examines human responses to environmental conditions. It looks at the effects of living and working under different environmental conditions: heat, cold, high altitude, underwater, and in zero gravity. Physiological responses such as acclimatisation and adaptation as well as human variability are studied. Factors affecting the ability to perform work under extreme conditions and tolerance limits for humans are examined. Practical work includes techniques for measuring physiological responses under different conditions. |
