Introduction
This course provides education and training in the professional practice of psychology. It is the fifth year component of the 5+1 pathway to registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA). Graduates will be eligible to apply for general registration with the PsyBA after successful completion of one year of supervised practice and successful completion of the National Psychology Examination.
Professional Recognition
This course has been submitted to the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council for accreditation.
Career Opportunities
This course provides access to a wide variety of employment opportunities in government and non-government counselling and mental health services. Upon completion of their internship and successful completion of the national Psychology Examination, graduates are eligible to apply for registration as psychologists with the Psychology Board of Australia.

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
Introduction Entry and Completion Details
A psychology degree with 2A Honours or equivalent within the last 10 years. Entry is competitive and shortlisted candidates will be interviewed.
Applicants must be eligible for registration with the PsyBA as a provisional psychologist.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for credit for recognised learning are assessed on an individual basis.
Course Organisation
This course provides students with education and training in the professional practice of psychology. The course is designed to integrate coursework, research and placement components with an emphasis on experiential learning.
Duration and Availability
This fee-paying course is one year full-time or two years half-time study.
