Course Overview
Graduate certificates prepare students to develop advanced knowledge and skills for professional or highly skilled work and further learning corresponding to AQF level 8 qualifications.
This course has been developed to provide recent graduates with the opportunity to continue their professional development as a lifelong learner.

Course Overview Note
Prospective applicants are advised that the program requires full participation in laboratory classes where practical skills and topics are presented. Essential learning strategies demand that all students disrobe appropriately to act as subjects for their peer group.
Course Entry and Completion Details
Applicants are required to meet University academic and English language entry standards; details are provided at http://futurestudents.curtin.edu.au. Applicants generally require a bachelor degree or equivalent credit gained for recognised learning.
Specifically, applicants require a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in physiotherapy from a recognised tertiary institution including a minimum of six months relevant clinical experience at a postgraduate level. These applicants must either be registered physiotherapists in Western Australia or be eligible for temporary registration with the Physiotherapists Registration Board of Western Australia. Students will be required to register with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
Credit for Recognised Learning
Applications for credit towards a course are assessed on an individual basis. Credit reduces the amount of learning required to complete the course and may be granted for formal education qualifications, non-formal learning from non-award programs of study and informal learning through work experiences. Up to one full unit based on six months of full-time relevant clinical experience may be applied for. Documentation and evidence must be submitted detailing the hours and caseload.

Course Entry /Completion Note
Applicants for this course should refer to the Communicable Diseases Section of the faculty website. Evidence of successful completion of an approved course in (CPR) first aid is required before an award is granted.
