Syllabus:

Humankind and kinds of humans. Approaches to race and ethnicity. Growth of nationalism, racism and exclusive identities. Australian and Asian forms of racism and nationalism. Feminisms, masculinities and sexualities. Class, property and power. Intersections of ethnicity, race, gender and class. Cross-cultural case studies in relation to Australia, India, China and Japan, plus a major research essay.
