Syllabus:

This unit builds on student knowledge and skills in individual therapy, and interventions across the lifespan and extends these to the areas of family therapy and couples therapy. Key frames for examining interactional patterns and strategies for bringing about change are considered. It particularly focuses on an attachment based approach to couple and family therapy. Family life cycle, family of origin influences and their impact on couple and family relationships are also focal points of the unit. The unit develops knowledge and skills in couple and family assessment and interventions.
