Syllabus: |
Introduces students to the foundational ideas and skills of a poststructuralist narrative approach to working with individuals, groups and communities. From a narrative perspective, human beings make sense of their lived experiences through storytelling. These 'identity stories' colour the meaning given to past events, shape the interpretation of present happenings and influence the prediction of future possibilities. Taking a narrative stance, counsellors can invite people to notice alternative and preferred accounts of their lives, assisting them to move towards more satisfying ways of living. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
