308700 v.1 Applied Mathematics Minor

Introduction

Applied Mathematics involves many different areas and the mathematical modelling of many problems from science and industry requires the use of both numerical and analytical techniques. Some problems may involve the use of finite structures and networks and optimisation techniques may then be usefully employed to obtain meaningful solutions. This minor is designed for students in a non-Mathematics major. Entry into this minor requires Mathematics 101 and Mathematics 102 or equivalent as prerequisites.
