Introduction

This course provides a qualification for people working in the mining industry who are interested in furthering their studies into the corporate and resources administration side of the mining industry.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Either a postgraduate diploma in corporate and resources administration or its equivalent, or a graduate certificate in corporate and resources administration or its equivalent, or a bachelor degree in business, commerce or a related field from a recognised tertiary entrance institution or equivalent qualification. Applicants would normally be expected to have a minimum of two years relevant employment experience.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This course is three semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Intermediate Awards I

A student who has successfully completed the requirements of an approved intermediate award may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Head of School/Department. Fees apply. Intermediate awards approved for this course appear below.

Intermediate Awards II

Postgraduate Diploma in Business (Corporate Resources and Administration).

Career Opportunities

Employment for graduates is mainly in the corporate and administrative departments of mining companies, and in state and federal government departments dealing with corporate resources.
