This course provides opportunities for students to develop a speciality by means of research and thesis, in natural resources.
A Postgraduate Diploma in Natural Resources or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary educational institution. A good second class honours degree is considered to be an equivalent qualification.
Students without prior studies in research methods and statistical data analysis will be required to undertake relevant preparatory units which may increase stated course duration.
The course is by research and normally requires one to two years of full-time or equivalent part-time study.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
The content of the degree should be determined in consultation with the postgraduate coordinator, Department of Environmental Biology. It is a requirement that two-thirds of this course is undertaken by research and only one-third by coursework. Studentsshould not enrol in this research course to receive a related postgraduate diploma but rather have undertaken it as a requisite for admission.
