This course is designed for experienced science, mathematics and technology teachers, educators or leaders who typically hold first degrees in science or mathematics. It develops and enhances knowledge and understanding of teaching and assessment techniques, curriculum and curriculum implementation, and/or science and mathematics content in their own specialised field of study. The units address individual needs so that the knowledge and understanding gained may be applied to professional practice.
A first degree in science or mathematics, teaching qualifications and/or teaching experience.
Applications for recognition of prior learning are not considered for this course, but graduates of the Graduate Certificate in Science Education or Graduate Certificate in Mathematics Education may be eligible for recognition of prior learning towards the Postgraduate Diploma in Mathematics Education.
This fee paying course is of one semester full-time or equivalent part-time study. It is anticipated that most students will study on a part-time basis.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
