Course Overview
Master Degrees (Coursework) prepare students to apply advanced knowledge for professional practice, scholarship and further learning corresponding to AQF level 9 qualifications.
This course provides a Postgraduate study for Engineers in their discipline area. Students will build on their knowledge and skills in engineering, research, management, and engineering design to equip them with advanced engineering professional capabilities required in an increasingly complex global environment.

Course Entry and Completion Details
Applicants for a Master Degree (Coursework) are required to meet University academic and English language entry standards; details are provided at http://futurestudents.curtin.edu.au. Subject to the duration of the course applicants usually require a Bachelor Degree or equivalent (and may require relevant work experience), Bachelor Honours Degree, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma. Any specific course entry and completion requirements must also be met.
This course provides a Postgraduate study for Engineers in their discipline area. Students will require a 2A Honours or better. Students will build on their knowledge and skills in engineering, research, management, and engineering design to equip them with advanced engineering professional capabilities required in an increasingly complex global environment.
Credit for Recognised Learning
Applications for credit towards a course are assessed on an individual basis. Credit reduces the amount of learning required to complete the course and may be granted for formal education qualifications, non-formal learning from non-award programs of study and informal learning through work experiences. Course Organisation
Master Degrees (Coursework) contain a series of units in a specialised area of study which may include compulsory (core), optional or elective units to cater for student preferences. They may also contain a range of majors/streams for students to choose from.
Course Learning Outcomes
A graduate of this course can:
1. apply advanced specialised knowledge and skills in a chosen field/discipline of Engineering or potentially synthesis and integrate different fields of Engineering
2. think both creatively and analytically with the application of existing knowledge and management of information and data
3. demonstrate knowledge of research methods, application to advanced problem-solving and design with the ability to identify pathways for product/process development in the commercial arena
4. communicate confidently and effectively to a wide range of both engineering and non-engineering personnel
5. apply an advanced working knowledge of fundamental Engineering –Science Principles recognising their potentialities in and constraints upon the development of new technologies
6. continue to develop as a professional engineer or researcher broadening knowledge and refining personal skills ; whilst contributing to society
7. work and learn independently and as part of multi-disciplinary teams through a range of modalities; apply international standards and practices as required of the discipline and profession
8. interact with and work effectively in teams with an international and cross-cultural perspective; acknowledge diversity and recognise indigenous perspectives
9. demonstrate personal and professional skills with responsible self and team leadership
Duration and Availability
The course duration is one-year full-time study and available at Curtin Bentley campus. The course will be available for students for entry in Semester 1 only.
