| Syllabus: | Sexuality and Relationships Education (SRE) is learning about the emotional, social and physical aspects of growing up, relationships. Sex, human sexuality and sexual health. Students will: apply pedagogical approaches; acquire knowledge. Skills and positive attitudes towards relationships and sexuality; and examine, plan, deliver and assess current sexuality and relationships education curriculum. Other topics include: the importance of a safe, supportive classroom environment; handling sensitive issues that may be perceived as barriers to teaching SRE; strategies for engaging with parents and the wider community; assessing SRE resources; strategies that are affirming of sexual diversity; and working competently and confidently in a multicultural environment. |
