| Syllabus: | This unit is designed to develop competencies in the ability to create and deliver group and individualised exercise prescriptions, targeting aerobic conditioning, muscular strength and power, muscular endurance and flexibility across the lifespan. Evidence based best practice derived from current scientific literature is emphasised in the assessment of clients, program design and implementation and the monitoring of the physiological outcomes of exercise. The ability to link theory with practice is developed through active participation in the design, implementation and monitoring of programs of exercise and the effect of prescribed exercise on measures of cardiovascular condition, as well as muscular strength, power and endurance. |
