| Syllabus: | Explore transmedia practices as a way of students articulating their study discipline through a series of seminars, workshops and their own creative work. In the seminar sessions, they will be introduced to contemporary transmedia practices and case studies and discuss key issues from various topics. In the process students will be expected to develop their own projects and then explore how they might deliver their finished work through a variety of platforms within a Transmedia structure. Through the workshop sessions, students will be asked to consider a number of creative tasks both as individuals and in groups, through which they will be introduced to different ways of approaching and managing creative production. Students will focus on developing individual and collective storylines for their projects through a range of online media technologies. Students will develop a deep understanding of contemporary media platforms, their strengths and weaknesses, and how these platforms combine and interrelate within transmedia storytelling. Ultimately, students will deliver an articulation of their project through a public online platform. |
