Syllabus: | Lectures by staff and guest lecturers drawn from the industry. Lectures cover an introduction to writing for publication in the Western Independent (published by Curtin). News gathering and research techniques, key aspects of publication law, investigative journalism, reporting for community newspapers, regional news coverage issues, and sports coverage. In addition there are lectures by guests on topics of current interest to news reporters. |
