Syllabus: | Central Nervous System: Introduction to receptors in the central nervous system: Drugs used to treat Parkinsonism and other neurodegenerative disorders: Drugs used to treat behavioural disorders: The chloride ion-GABA receptor complex. Benzodiazepine receptor agonists and antagonists: Sedative-hypnotic/anti-anxiety drugs. Antipsychotic drugs; antidepressants: Drugs used to treat the epilepsies. Cardiovascular and renal systems: Drugs affecting renal and cardiovascular function: Diuretics: Thiazides; loop diuretics; potassium sparing diuretics.
