Syllabus:	Processes of market enclosure associated with contemporary globilisation. Key elements of this period are examined including changes in citizenship, international governance and the role of finance capital. The work of key contemporary and classical thinkers on commodification and markets are considered. Case studies of market enclosure including privatisation and the extension of intellectual property rights are analysed. Students will be encouraged to think creatively and reflectively within a disciplinary framework. This unit can be taken in both the Politics and International Relations and Sociology discipline majors.
