Syllabus:	Diversity of life; five kingdoms; phylogeny and taxonomy of aquatic species; approaches used to study aquatic organisms; external and internal anatomy of commercially important aquatic invertebrates and fishes. Introduction to various aquaculture products and forms; overview of world aquaculture production and fishing industries; flow-through and pond-based freshwater aquaculture systems; principles of aquaculture site and species selection; introduction to live feeds; water quality in aquaculture; translocation of aquatic species; occupational safety and health as it relates to work in aquatic environment. Introduction to coastal science.
