Syllabus:	Rheology: its principles and applications in pharmaceutical formulations. Colloids and pharmaceutical suspensions; their properties and evaluation in relation to formulation. Particle size and surface area measurement. Pharmaceutical aspects of pH; different types of salts; buffers and the buffer equations; Effect of pH on the solubilities of pharmaceutical compounds. Iso-osmolarity and isotonicity. Tablet formulation, manufacture, and evaluation.
