Syllabus: | Introduction to the complexities of the teaching profession. Examination of what it means to be an effective teacher and ways in which the interaction between the teacher, learner and environment affects learning. Particular consideration will be given to the diversity of learners. Students will be introduced to a range of teaching and management strategies and be expected to apply these and their knowledge of effective teaching to the planning and evaluation of learning experiences. Teacher professionalism, ethics and current policy documents relating to child protection and duty of care will also be considered. |
