Syllabus:	Definitions and protection terminology. Protection system components: current transformers (CT)s, voltage transformers (VT)s, relays, over current protection and grading. Differential protection. Protection of distribution lines, transmission lines and transformers. Solid state relays. Fuses and their coordination. Developments in the field of protection, for example digital protection.
