Syllabus: | Orientation to the complexities of the teaching profession. Examination of what it means to be an effective secondary school teacher and ways in which the interactions between the teacher, learner and environment affect learning. Students will be introduced to a range of teaching and management strategies and apply these and their knowledge of effective teaching to the planning, teaching and evaluation of learning experiences. Students will spend one week observing in a school to analyse the work of a teacher in classroom and whole-school situations. |
