Editorial illustration involves designing illustrations for newspapers, magazines, flyers, annual reports and book jackets. Students learn to study texts at different levels and take intoaccount different perspectives on issues. Emphasis is placed on understanding conceptual frameworks to generate ideas. The intention is to provide students with vital experience within this area for future reference as professional illustrators or competent designers. The narrative structure of illustration and basic visual communication principles are discussed within an international context. Students can choose to either follow given projects (industry-related briefs) or design their own relevant project briefs. |
