Syllabus:	Introduction to network security. Cryptography: encryption principles, algorithms and key distribution, public-key cryptography, and message authentication. Authentication applications: kerberos, X.509 and directory authentication. Electronic mail security: PGP and S/MIME. IP security. Web security: requirements, SSL, TLS and SET. Network management security: SNMP. Intruders and viruses. Firewalls: design principles and trusted systems.
