Syllabus: | Introduction to groundwater, emphasising geological controls on groundwater flow, quantitative methods of analysing aquifer systems, groundwater exploration methods: surface and subsurface, groundwater drilling technologies: methods, economics, regional hydrogeology, water quality and pollution. Physical and chemical processes governing the transport of solutes in groundwater, application of hydrogeologic and geochemical theory and practice to the protection of aquifers from contamination. |
