This course enables students to extend knowledge of current academic research methodology as it is applied in the field of land and water resource science, and to demonstrate this through undertaking a supervised research project and the preparation of an honours dissertation.

This course is one year full-time study.
The honours year contains management-oriented science, including groundwater management, resource management and coastal management. These are combined with a honours dissertation.
Graduates of the undergraduate degree with honours are eligible for membership of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Geological Society of Australia. Full membership becomes possible for graduates with Honours or pass degrees after three or four years of professional practice.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
