Introduction

The CRE UniReady enabling program for regional students will enable students to matriculate into Curtin (and other universities) as well as bridge into a limited number of specified courses delivered through the Centre of Regional Education (CRE). The program incorporates a high degree of flexibility and responsiveness that caters to students from a wide range of educational backgrounds, ages and experiences. This program is flexible enough to allow students to complete one, some or all of the units in the course (depending on their requirements).

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Applicants are required to be at least 18 years of age (and can submit an application in the year of turning 18). All applicants are also required to submit a 500 word Personal Statement (see page 20) highlighting their personal goals and aspirations.

Specific Requirements

Applicants who have not been successful in attaining the University's minimum STAT score will be eligible for this course, however the STAT is not required for entry.

Note

Applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Upon successful completion of the course, those who wish to continue on to degree level studies are required to consult with the course coordinator to determine eligibility and a career pathway.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applicants cannot receive recognition of prior learning for completed bridging units when transferring to award courses.

Duration and Availability

6 months to 1 year.

Course Organisation

Students will complete the units required for matriculation and/or entry into their preferred course of study.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
