Syllabus: Provides a broad understanding of the law to develop sufficient basic knowledge and skills to enable effective management decisions and interaction with professional legal advisors. Emphasis is placed on law as it affects primary producers and agribusiness. Topics include: the Australian legal system, property law, tort law, contract law, consumer protection laws, credit, recovery of debts and bankruptcy law, wills, deceased estates and trusts, agency and partnerships, company law, and business entity comparison. One area of law chosen by the student is studied in depth.
