Syllabus: Measurement and instrumentation for main process variables: temperature, pressure, flow, level and weight. Selected online analysers and computer interfacing for process control systems. Mathematical modelling of chemical processes. Dynamic behaviour of processes. Development of dynamic models from experimental data. Basic components of control systems. Design of single-loop systems. Controller tuning techniques. Introduction to frequency domain methods.
