Syllabus (same as for 2840 v 6): | Experiences and meanings of Australian working class society and culture during the twentieth century. The development and characteristics of the Australian working class, including comparison with other working class cultures, such as Britain, Canada, the United States of America and New Zealand. The intersections of class with other aspects of working class identity including gender, race and class. Visits to relevant sites may be included as part of this unit. Students will undertake a major research essay. |
