Syllabus: Syllabus (Section A) History of Land Law. Systems of Land Tenure. Acts and Regulations relating to: Subdivision of Crown Land, Freehold Land, opening and closing public and private roads and right of way, acquisition of land for public works, mining tenements, including Strata Titles Act, Town Planning and Development Act, Property Law Act, Local Government Act, Public Works Act, Transfer Land Act and Land Act. Syllabus (Section B) Moral Philosophy and the Foundation of Ethics. Duties and Responsibilities of the Surveyor. The Surveyor in the Community. The Institution of Surveyors. History of Surveying. Legal liabilities for Licensed Surveyor and professional firm. Syllabus (Section C) Requirements of Licensed Surveyors Act and Regulations; detailed study of Regulations under the Licensed Surveyors Act 1976, Land Administration Act, Transfer of Land Act 1893, & Strata Titles Act 1985 and Mining Act. Authorised surveys carried out under these acts. Costing. Arrangement of field party, equipment, field survey methods, calculations, drafting and reports, quality control for DOLA. Legal responsibilities of the Surveyor under the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
