Introduction

This course provides graduates with perspectives appropriate for work in the social welfare and community service fields. Selection from a variety of core and optional units provides an opportunity for specialisation.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A three-year degree in a related discipline and a minimum of two year's documented relevant work experience. Alternatively a four-year degree in a related discipline and minimum of twelve months documented relevant work experience.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This fee-paying course is one year full-time or equivalent part time study. Some units may be available externally.

Course Organisation

Students select three optional units, one of the three areas of specialisation and sufficient elective units.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.

Special Note

Students considering articulation of this course with a master program should clarify entrance requirements with the Graduate Studies Coordinator of the Department of Social Work and Social Policy.
