Syllabus:

This unit demonstrates principles of occupational hygiene and ergonomic hazard identification, and assessment through the application of practical techniques of workplace measurement. Topics include: the exposure evaluation techniques, for example - occupational hygiene hazards (hazardous substances, noise, vibration, illumination, thermal stress and ventilation); ergonomic stressors, for example - physical ergonomics (anthropometrics, workstation design, muscle physiology, respiratory function) and cognitive ergonomics (information processing, mental workload, circadian variation and organisational stressors).
