Syllabus:

Time varying fields and Maxwell's equations. Plane wave propagation - reflection and transmission, normal and oblique incidence, lossless and lossy media. Guided waves - transmission lines, metal hollow waveguides and optical fibres. Radiation and antennas - electric and magnetic dipoles, practical antennas, antenna characteristics, antenna arrays, Friis equation and the Radar equation. Propagation mechanisms in mobile radio environments.
