Syllabus:

Explores the biotechnology industry from the laboratory to the market place. Traditional biotechnology processes. Overview of the modern biotechnology industry and applications of biopharmaceuticals, transgenics, genomics, proteomics, monoclonal antibodytechnology, DNA chips and diagnostics and rational drug design. Commercialisation of research and development, what is intellectual property. Patenting intellectual property (IP), contracts and licensing technology, establishing and managing a biotechnology company. Raising venture capital, stages from research and development to production, distribution, sales and marketing.
