Not available until 2006. This unit covers the foundations of health promotion and major components of health promotion practice with emphasis on the planning of health promotion interventions. The syllabus includes - concepts of health and health promotion, major historical influences, needs assessment, psychosocial basis for health promotion, planning frameworks, predisposing, reinforcing and enabling factors, introduction to evaluation, community development /participation, capacity building, social capital, sustainability, and preparation of planning proposals. |
