Syllabus: |
This unit is designed for students in the Master of Science (Computer Science). Data mining is the process of automatic discovery of patterns, changes, associations and anomalies in large databases. An introduction to the main topics in data mining and knowledge discovery, including: statistical foundations, association rule discovery, classification and prediction, cluster analysis, mining complex data, applications and trends. The focus will be on the algorithmic and systems issues, as well as application of mining to real-world problems. |
