Syllabus: Introduction to financial modelling, using real world models. The development process - understand, design, build, test, implement and maintain. Using Excel as a modelling tool. Design principles and the user interface. Workshop - design (benefit projection modelling). The analytical process (using workers compensation insurance as an example) Workshop - analysis (workers compensation insurance modelling). Completion - testing, security and maintenance. Introduction to modelling using VBA and advanced VBA techniques. Working with data in Excel. Stochastic asset/liability modelling. Workshop - stochastic (stochastic asset/liability modelling).
