Course Entry Requirements/PrerequisitesA degree in valuation, land economy, business, commerce, urban planning, architecture, building, quantity surveying, economics, law or any other appropriate field from a recognised Australian tertiary institution or equivalent, plus a minimum of one yearof relevant work experience. Professionally qualified, highly experienced non-graduates working in the property area may be granted entry at the discretion of the Head of School. Recognition of Prior LearningCompletion of relevant studies in law and urban planning exempt studies from units in these areas but they may be required to instead undertake other units as approved after consultation with the Head of School. Duration and AvailabilityThe course is one year full-time or equivalent part-time study. Course OrganisationBecause of the diverse backgrounds of students, some foundation material from economics, law and property analysis are included. Career OpportunitiesGraduates may find ready employment in middle to senior executive positions in organisations having substantial land-based assets including government departments at all tiers, real estate consulting organisations, investment houses, property trusts, banks, insurance companies, and superannuation funds. Employment might also be found in professions such as urban planning, architecture and quantity surveying.
