It provides a means of response to the rapidly changing needs of society, which rarely fit within the traditional boundaries of scientific disciplines. Graduates will have a sound background in their chosen area, but with greater ability to adapt to problems covered in their studies than would otherwise be the case. Recognition of Prior LearningApplications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis. Duration and AvailabilityThe course is three years full-time or equivalent part-time study. Course OrganisationThe course requirements will ensure a uniformity of academic achievement without restricting options unnecessarily. In order to complete the three-year degree the requirement will be study of Curtin units, credit transfer from other institutions, recognition of prior learning based on industrial experience, and the use of Open Learning Australia. Of these, a maximum of 275 credits must be from units at first year level and a minimum of 125 credits from units at third year level.
