This course is not available to International Onshore Students on Student Visas

Introduction

Provides health professionals with a broad and sound foundation in biological and behavioural sciences, the principles of teaching and learning and best practice management of diabetes. Graduates will have the capacity to advance diabetes education and guide clinical practice.

Specific Requirements

Applicants for this course should refer to the Communicable Diseases and Criminal Record Screening/Clearance Section of this publication.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This fee paying course is one year part-time external study.

Course Organisation

Students are required to participate in clinical practice (2 x 10 days).

Professional Recognition

This course has Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) accreditation, 2003 - 2007. Graduates may be able to use this course as evidence to support an application for credentialling with ADEA.

Special Note

Students are required to have and maintain a reliable internet access and pay for the cost of obtaining and using internet access as part of their studies.
