Introduction

The course provides a knowledge and understanding of core areas of mineral processing and extractive metallurgy. It is designed for non-metallurgy scientists or engineers who wish to pursue a career in the minerals industry as an extractive metallurgist.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This fee-paying course is one year full-time or equivalent part-time study. The course is also available on an external study basis.

Intermediate Awards

A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Metallurgy may apply under exceptional circumstance provisions for graduation in that award, subject to approval of the Head of School/Department.
