Introduction

This course provides integrated training in landcare for graduates from a variety of disciplines who intend to work in this area.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A bachelor degree from a recognised institution. Applicants may also be considered on the basis of the relevance and equivalence of their qualifications and experience.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This fee-paying course is one year full-time or equivalent part-time study. The course is offered in two modes for full-time or part-time internal students, who will be able to select optional units from those available on the Bentley campus, and for part-time external students. All core units are available for those undertaking external studies with sufficient optional units to enable completion.

Intermediate Awards

A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Landcare may apply under exceptional circumstances for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Director, Muresk Institute. For further definition refer to the Statement and Awards section under General Information.

Course Organisation

Prescribed core units are undertaken from options to enable development in particular areas. The optional unit list includes some commonly chosen units but is by no means limiting. The research project may be undertaken in an approved field under the supervision of any approved staff member.

Professional Recognition

Graduates are eligible for membership to the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science (AIAIS).

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials.
