This coursework plus project masters expands knowledge above that of the specialisations attained at the postgraduate
diploma level and advances skills in educational research and evaluation. Graduates are expected to be able to plan and
conduct research, development, and or evaluation projects with a high degree of initiative, independence and resourcefulness.
Applicants with four years of prior tertiary qualifications and relevant work experience complete a one and a half year
program. For those with five years of approved tertiary qualifications, for example, a four year degree plus postgraduate
diploma or equivalent require the completion of a one year program. Applicants may be required, at the discretion of the
Postgraduate Coordinator, to take postgraduate bridging units where these are considered appropriate. The completion of
these units may increase the stated course duration. Applicants who have not completed an undergraduate degree at a
university where instruction was in English will be required to demonstrate English proficiency either through the IELTS or
through qualifications accepted as satisfying Curtin's Matriculation English competency requirements.
The course is normally one and a half years full-time or equivalent part-time study. Duration may vary depending upon
entrance qualifications.
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials.
