Syllabus:

International relations of the Indian Ocean region. Geographical and historical framework, subregions, interests and instruments of external powers, evolution of region as strategic area, interaction between external local states, relations within subregions, domestic and international sources of foreign policy for selected states such as Indonesia, India, Pakistan, and Iran.
