Syllabus:

Laboratory practice - biological specimens, requesting and interpreting laboratory tests, accuracy and precision, quality assurance. Instrumentation - photometry, microscopy. Haematology - structure, function and morphology of blood components, cell counting, structure and function of haemoglobin, platelets and reticulocytes, Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate and Red Blood Cells indices, blood counts, haematological diseases. Biochemistry - biomolecules, amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates, lipids.
