Details the molecular biology and pathogenesis of major microbial pathogens and how molecular biotechnology uses this information to improve diagnosis, treatment, epidemiological analysis, control and prevention of infectious diseases. Action and range of antimicrobial agents. Bacterial genetics and the evolution of resistance to antimicrobial agents, mechanisms of resistance to antimicrobial agents and the spread and epidemiology of antimicrobial resistance genes. |
