Syllabus:

Designed for students with TEE Physics or those who have taken Engineering Physics 100 at Curtin. Newton's Laws - Forces, equilibrium, moments and resultants, couples and distributed forces - free bodies and free-body diagrams, trusses - Analysis of beams - Stress and strain, thermal effects, failure - Compatibility, superposition - Displacement, velocity and acceleration, linear and rotational motion. Plane kinematics and kinetics, momentum - Work, power, P.E. and K.E. - Hydrostatics, Fluid flow, pressure, flow rate, momentum flux, fluid forces, Bernoulli equation.
