Syllabus:

The position of women in different contemporary societies around the world. Exploration of issues relating to region, nation, class, ethnicity, kinship and sexuality through topics such as politics and religion. Study of particular effects of globalisation, modernity and 'development' on the lives of women. Similarities in the differences between the lives of women of diverse backgrounds.
