Syllabus:

The 'receiving end' of media, communication and information processes, consumers, users and public. Social and cultural consequences of consumption, cognitive and socio-behavioural approaches to information acquisition and use, information, mediation and the public sphere, audiences and the formation of sub-cultures, public spheres, and national communities.
